Craig Umberger
Craig is new to the KUMU team in 2026, taking on the role of Visual Caption Head. He has experience in various roles in the activity spanning the last 14 years, working with scholastic and independent indoor drumline and winds programs, high school (and now college) marching band programs, and even drum corps with the Heartliner Drum & Bugle Corps from Ludwigshafen, Germany during their 2013 season, both overseas for their European season and in the States for their involvement in DCA Championships. Craig has taught battery percussion, brass, and visual over the years, and his most recent position was Visual Caption Head for the Wilson High School Marching Band of Reading in 2025.
Craig also marched with the Millersville University Marauder Marching Band in college as both a member of the battery as a bass drummer and then the horn line playing baritone. He also played Baritone with the 2011 and 2012 Hawthorne Caballeros, and plans to go back to the activity to march DCI All-Age again in 2027.
Outside of the marching arts community, Craig is a technical programmer at the manufacturing facility where he works, and comes home to his 6-year old Pug named Mona.
